Lama Tashi Phuntsok (born in May 25, 1946, at Golok) is a great Tersar lineage holder and terton in contemporary Tibet. Khamtsang Terton and Zhichen Ontrul Rinpoche recognized Lama Tashi Phuntsok, according to the prediction and spiritual achievement, as the body manifestation of Vimalamitra, speech manifestation of Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal, and mind manifestation of Guru Padmasambhava.

Lama dedicated his whole life to terma discoveries, meditation retreats, giving empowerments and teachings on terma. He is a great meditator and has done many meditation retreats during his lifetime. Meanwhile, Lama is also a Tibetan medicine physician, studied under terton physician Khamtsang Terton. He perennially treats patients who live in remote pastoral areas.

The treasure-like terton Tashi Phuntsok Rinpoche has discovered over 40 terma teachings, and is working on even more volumes. This is very rare in Tibetan areas. Lama has dedicated all his effort to promoting terma teachings from Guru Padmasambhava. He treats all Buddhist lineages equally, emphasizes on the key principle that “there is no shortcut other than actual practice”.
