In our world of globalization, there are more and more communication between people from different language backgrounds. In learning Buddhism and communicating Buddhist ideas, people often find it difficult to relate Dharma words from one language to the equivalent expression in another language. For example, a Chinese Buddhist would not know how to express the Buddhist term “方便” when he/she wants to explain certain Buddhist ideas to an American. It is relatively difficult to search and find the common translation of this concept, which is “skillful means” or “expedient means.”

To address these difficulties, we are working on compiling a multilingual Dharma Dictionary that can provide people with accurate translations, proper explanations, and rich references.
